The folks at Blizzard are showcasing the various interesting locales in World of Warcraft with their Summer Challenges series. This week, the challenge is Blackrock Mountain, the home of the Dark Iron dwarves. Oh, and some dragon stuff. And some fire elemental god stuff. Blackrock Mountain is a massive, really cool dungeon, which is a shame since hardly anyone goes there anymore. If you haven’t explored this undertower of fire and fury, now would be a good time to check it out. Battle.net has the story.
Blackrock Mountain is like a faction city with dungeons bolted on. It’s a huge, sprawling labyrinth of molten lava, burning iron, and epic loot. If you came into Warcraft on an expansion, this place used to be the endgame and second home to 40-man raiding parties. So much as a video game can have history, Blackrock is history.
