Nintendo’s Wii console, while a good system, has always been dogged by the reputation of being for kids. Hardcore gamers, whatever that means, shunned the Wii and its games because the titles weren’t mature enough for hardcore tastes. This is the same system that features Resident Evil 4, No More Heroes, MadWorld, and House of the Dead: Overkill, among other gruesome, violent games. There’s nothing wrong with another zombie game, but I’m forever confused that Nintendo even needs to fight this battle. Bright and colorful does not mean Babby’s First Video Game for Babbies. Turn your back on New Super Mario Bros Wii, and that game will shank you. Or is this hardcore thing more about blood and gore than challenging gameplay?
