Some video games are different. They try new ideas, offer new vistas, maybe even they do something never seen before. Then, there’s Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51. These are the people who brought Killer 7 into the world, a fever dream rail shooter that wove two strange plots around each other like dueling serpents. Although Grasshopper Manufacture has gone on to more sedate games like Lollipop Chainsaw, that maniacal edge remains. Care to find out more about this bizarre group? 1UP has the story.
Killer 7 is one of the games in my collection. It’s difficult to play, and not really fun in the conventional sense. What it is, though, is strange. You want to play more just to see what weird thing happens next. Maybe a clue will be revealed, maybe a guy with a magic hand will catch a cannon shell and fly on it across the city. Who knows? There’s no such thing as a simple play through of Killer 7.
