That’s kind of a lot. Sony has recently posted their quarterly earnings this year, which ran from April 1 to June 30. The results aren’t so good, with a loss of over three-hundred million dollars. However, that is something of an upswing from larger losses previously. Sony has blamed the loss on recent financial market troubles, as well as an internal restructuring. IGN has the story.
PlayStation and handheld system sales have been essentially flat for Sony, which isn’t helping their bottom line. Likewise, Nintendo’s own portables like the 3DS XL are going to present some heavy competition to Sony’s PlayStation Vita.
Of course, Sony is bigger than its gaming division, so we’ll see what shakes out.
