At least one, anyhow. It’s called the Kuratas, a 13-foot tall wearable robot suit complete with ranged and close-combat weapon suites. Granted, it’s not a military machine; the suit moves at a blistering seven miles per hour, and its weaponry consists of water guns and water rockets. Still, it is a robot powered armor suit for reals, and that has to count for something. Give it ten years, and we’ll be seeing these things everywhere. Check out the videos. VentureBeat has the story.
Powered armor is a thing, with real military money backing several projects. The idea is to give soldiers incredible strength to carry literally tons of gear while protecting them against small-arms fire. Powered armor also has use in construction and heavy industry, like mining.
I doubt those suits will look as cool as this one, though.
