Capcom is banking on Resident Evil 6 to be a massive hit, and they’re throwing a lot of weight behind this latest installment in the survival horror series. Unfortunately, they screwed up with a bad demo at the E3 conference which turned away the gaming press. In a move that is stunning for its rarity, Capcom realized their mistake, trashed the old demo, and put together another that’s entirely better. They took this new Resident Evil 6 build to the San Diego Comic-Con. Check out this article that covers a test drive of the new demo, complete with video. 1UP has the story.
It’s good to see a game company correcting their mistakes. So often, this whole game design thing is tied up in ego and company politics, so ruinous decisions end up on store shelves. Switching up a bad demo for a better one is a good move by Capcom.
