If you’ve never seen the internet destroy a man, then pull up a chair and let me tell you about Paul Christoforo. Paul runs a company called Ocean Marketing, which promotes and sells a PS3 controller add-on. When a customer who pre-ordered the thing emailed to ask when it would ship, he got Paul on the other end. Paul said this, among other things, “put on your big boy hat and wait it out like everyone else” and “Maybe I’ll put them on eBay for 150.00 myself.” After a few more emails, Paul Christoforo of Ocean Marketing started threatening the customer, taunting him about what he was going to do. The customer forwarded the emails to Penny Arcade and Kotaku. That’s when things got hilarious. Kotaku has the story.
The Paul Christoforo rabbit hole goes deep. As of this writing, Kotaku has three articles on the guy. Something Awful is revving up a wonderful thread about him, and the Penny Arcade website has been crushed by traffic as the PA crew sounds the war drums.
This… This is what the internet was made for.
Horrible people meet horrible fates on the Internet. I suppose that Paul isn’t very aware of video game culture if he didn’t see what happened to Jack Thompson when he tangled with Penny Arcade and GamePolitics.
Perhaps he thought he’d be immune?
