That’s not a weird title, the studio is named A Bit Lucky, and they make Facebook games. Common wisdom is that the cute, simple games on the social site juggernaut were the domain of female players, with few of the menfolk clicking along on their cows or little houses. A Bit Lucky decided to challenge that notion with a more hardcore sci-fi game called Lucky Space. What do these fine folks have to say about small game development and working with the social media scene? Gamasutra has the story.
Of course, Facebook games don’t have to stay on Facebook. There’s a broad niche for simple, easy to play games, and the best part is those games don’t take much to make. One person, a small team, and a little bit of time is all you need. Given the modern tools for making games, the Facebook genre might be an excellent way for new and unknown game devs to try their hand at the art and make their mark.
