The newest anime coop multiplayer that looks surprisingly like Zelda Breath of the Wild just crossed the Pacific Ocean to the United States with a lot of crossplay for U.S. gamers and is now on PS4, PC, iOS, and Android with Genshin Impact, the newest game from miHoYo.
It took the voces a total of six hours to download the game to play it and boy was it worth it. The launch trailer shows off the game in all its open world glory – but don’t be fooled by all its MMORPG stylings, it’s only a multiplayer cooperative game with gachapon gaming additions.
To get the game now follow these links – PS4, PC, iOS, and Android.
“For the past three and a half years, our team has been working towards creating a sprawling, beautiful open-world game in which players have the freedom to explore alone or bring friends along for the journey,” said Forrest Liu, general president of miHoYo, said. “We’re very grateful to have over 10 million players pre-registered for Genshin Impact across PS4, PC, and mobile around the world. We can’t wait to see you all in the world of Teyvat.”
In Genshin Impact, players take on the role of one of two dimension-hopping twins with deific powers who are struck down by another power who seems hellbent on stopping their journey – for whatever unknown reasons. The player chooses one twin to play and the other is kidnapped.
The game is localized in English for Western players and the sojourn starts with a great deal of voicing, with a suitable amount of text to read and a lot of cinematic gameplay.
The game itself follows the tried-and-true free-to-play model now seen in the standard MMORPG landscape that has come to dominate the industry including a standard cash shop, level ups, wardrobe, boosts, and such.
The game features over 30 companions that will ally with the twin, known as the Traveller, who washes up on the unknown world who is followed by “Paimon,” a fairy-like creature who helps the player navigate and gives great advice. The player will also be joined by up to three companions in a party of four in cooperative gameplay in the open world and instanced dungeons.
Although Genshin Impact has been confirmed for the Switch, the beta will not be available for that platform.
The graphics are beautiful and immersive and our voces who have been playing and streaming the game since its launch on Monday have likened it to the game of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, mentioned above, in its immersion and path of play.
This includes the number of characters, the stories that it tells, the world, and the way that players are brought into the story – even the way that side quests continue the branch away from trying to reunite the Traveler with their kidnapped twin as they attempt to resolve the troubles of the world they are stranded on.
See you in strange virtuality, reader. Read more about Genshin Impact on Miyoho’s website and download the game.
