Gameforge, the publisher of popular MMO games including Aion, Kingdom Under Fire 2, and Tera Online, announced today the launch of developer Moonmana’s Ultimate Pirates, a swashbuckling browser-based strategy multiplayer game that will put players in the crow’s nest.
The cutlass twirling game is currently available for most browsers but the company also has plans to release a dedicated client for Windows PCs.
The game features a gorgeous art style and it is set in a unique pirate-themed world with unlimited PvP and PvE battles. Players are invited to take to the game and become the world’s next ultimate pirate.
“Moonmana is an amazing partner with a very experienced and skilled team,” said Alexander Rösner, chief executive of Gameforge. “With Ultimate Pirates, we look forward to seeing our players hoisting their Jolly Rogers and starting exciting sea-faring lives in the quest for gold and glory!”
The game was developed in a partnership between multiplatform game developer Moonmana and Grafit Art, a digital art studio that has contributed to titles by Activision, Bethesda, CD Projekt Red, and many others.
Key features of Ultimate Pirates include real-time multiplayer PvP, player alliances, mythical sea-faring beasts, and empire management.
The game’s PvP will have players face off against one another in intense naval battles that require a strategic mind. Player fleets can be combined with those of allies to intercept enemy pirates or legendary creatures to plunder riches and gain infamy.
As mentioned above, alliances are available for players to share the spoils of war and avenge fallen comrades.
In addition to fighting other players, the game will also feature mythical sea-borne monsters and NPC pirates. These scurvy dog pirates, and other mercenaries, are always itching for a fight – or someone to take a bite out of – so no player will go without something to do.
The game also includes RPG elements that MMORPG players will recognize such as equipment and fleet levels.
