The grand experiment is finally coming to life. Dust 514, a first-person shooter, and EVE Online, a spreadsheet management game in space, are scheduled to hook into each other with an upcoming beta. The plan is to allow the two games to influence each other, complete with communication and orbital firepower passing from one game into the next. Exactly how Dust 514 and EVE Online will affect each other is unclear, but the scope is rather impressive. GamesRadar has the story.
CCP sure does love their EVE Online universe, and Dust 514 will let players get up close and personal with it in grubby, muddy battlefields. Who knows if the EVE community will take to a first-person shooter, but it’s definitely something different.
