Video game sales for April were down compared to this time last year, and the number is a frightening 42-percent. That’s a huge drop and would send the industry reeling, if anyone had actually released any games in April. It seems a lack of new releases was to blame for the shattering drop, a problem that will likely be cured as May sees the release of Diablo 3 and Max Payne 3. So what games did sell? The LA Times has the story.
I think the biggest April title was Trials Evolution, and that was an Xbox LIVE Arcade game. Retailers didn’t see a penny of that one. Must be tough, that whole “retail outlet for a purely digital product” thing.
