Science fiction MMORPG Star Trek Online has brought back some previously unobtainable items and selling them in an online cash shop named after Harry Harcourt Mudd from Star Trek, the original series (who was reprised in Star Trek: Discovery).
Mudd’s Market opened today as a subsection of the Cryptic Zen Store, run by Cryptic Studios, the publisher of STO. It will offer items that rotate on a limited-time basis as Mudd will not always have all these items in stock.
As a result, players will want to get them quickly before they run out. Cryptic also noted that there may be massive sales on some items, so checking the store regularly will behoove captains.
Here is a list of the items that have launched with the store, they will have limited stock, so if they run out, captains will have to wait until they return.
- The Beacon of Kahless, bundled with an Ultimate Tech Upgrade – 2,000 Zen
- Command Assault Cruiser – Visier Class – 3,500 Zen
- Crystalline Antiproton Energy Weapons, bundled with an Ultimate Tech Upgrade – 2,000 Zen
- Bio-Engineered Furiadon Combat Pet, bundled with an Ultimate Tech Upgrade – 2,000 Zen
- The Ophidian Cane, the Shard of Possibilities, and Reman and Breen Bridge Officers – 2,000 Zen
- Emergency Medical Hologram Holographic Bridge Officer – 1,000 Zen
- Original Series Enterprise Holographic Bridge Officers – 2,500 Zen
- Leeta Holographic Bridge Officer – 1,000 Zen
Everything in Mudd’s Market claims to be 75% off — although none of these items have ever had Zen prices before. Some also have wonderfully cute tags attached.
For example, the Bio-Engineered Furiadon Combat Pet is tagged “Dino With Frickin’ Laser Beams Attached to Its Head” and the Command Assault Cruiser is tagged “Don’t worry, these ships are legit.” The store also claims some items are “Procured” and “I swear they’re not stolen!”
Many of these items were rewards from, now ended, featured episodes or featured task force operations. Items such as Leeta Holographic Bridge Officer and the Visier-class Command Assault Cruiser came from now ended promotions.
The market opened today, November 22, at 8 a.m. PT.
