The ghost of future patches rises once more to haunt the Xbox as the Silent Hill HD Collection will go without a bugfix patch on Microsoft’s console. The patch, designed to correct framerate issues and squash some bugs, will debut on the PlayStation 3, instead. Microsoft’s policy on patches for the Xbox has created some problems before, with known issues going untouched for fear of the dread certification process. GameSpot has the story.
Microsoft may well need to change their policies on patches, and soon. If more games forsake patching, the quality of Xbox games is going to take a nosedive. Especially once the hackers get involved.
