Trials Evolution is downloadable Xbox game about bike racing over an obstacle course. It has sold roughly a half-million copies. That is jaw-dropping, and leaves us with a question; why? Why has this game among so many others sold so well? Tero Virtala, managing director at RedLynx, has an answer. Gamasutra has the story.
From what I can tell, the basics of the game are simple enough, but how they come together in practice is the stuff madness is made from. The game experience seems to be akin to slamming your fists into a brick wall while screaming an endless litany of profanity, but the wall is made of cocaine and heroin so it mixes with the blood dripping from your mangled hands and keeps you too high to stop.
At night, the multiplayer comes.
