Guinness World Records, those wonderful collectors of trivia and strange endeavors, have finally decided to take a look into the world of video games. Their approach, though, is somewhat unusual. They’ve chosen to start off with the top 50 best video game endings, and decided to put the content to a popular vote. This is why Call of Duty: Black Ops was chosen for the top spot. If I may wear my old-school hat for a moment, I’d just like to say, no. That’s wrong. SlashGear has the story.
Obviously, a contest put to popular vote will fall on the side of what’s hot and trendy right now, and maybe not so much on the objective merits of each case. If we were to be objective, though, the best video game ending of all time isn’t found on consoles. It’s not in stores.
It’s found in a game called Planescape: Torment.
Okay, I agree wholeheartedly here… Planescape: Torment had an amazing beginning, middle, and end.
