I loves me some gaming archeology. The study of hidden, discarded, and locked away content in video games is fascinating, a digital version of touring backstage through old and abandoned movie sets. I’m not the only one. A daring gamer has braved the void of the map to discover almost the entirety of the Elder Scrolls world is built into Skyrim. Unearthing an unfinished level is one thing, but a whole world? What could Bethesda be planning for such a massive map? Why is it there at all? Gameinformer has the story.
Seriously, stuff like this makes me tingly in strange places. Virtual exploration of the forgotten and abandoned is still a thing of wonder. A find like this… That’s some hella wonder.
Interesting, can’t wait to see what else is found within the game.
I’m thinking it’s for DLC expansion content. If the framework is there, it means that it could be unlocked and populated by DLCs more readily (without the mess of having to recreate the wheel.)
